Before I get started on today's outfit post, I wanted to thank each and every one of you who read Monday's post and reached out to me in some way, shape or form.  Each and every comment, text or message was a reminder to me just how amazing this community of women truly is!  Since Monday's post was a little deep I thought I would keep today's post on the lighter side.

Let's Talk Body Image

When I sat down to write this post last night, this is not exactly what I planned on writing about nor is it a topic I thought I would ever talk about here.  I envision this little space on the internet to be a place for honest and open discussion, but if I'm being true to myself and each of you, I have avoided talking about this topic because it embarrasses me that it's something that even crosses my mind.  I'm a 27 year old woman and I still struggle with my body image on a daily basis.

Menu Planning For Success

January 26, 2018
meal planning rifle paper co market list weekly meal planner paleo whole 30 budgeting budget pink roses anthropologie candle

Before Kyle and I started menu planning, we played the game where we look at each other and ask what's for dinner for an hour, which usually led to a disagreement and then eating something quick and unhealthy.  It was a pattern we stayed in for such a long time and we were only able to break it when we did the Whole 30 together in January of 2017.  With Whole 30 you pretty much have to menu plan or there is little chance you will have success.  There are few restaurants you can eat at and honestly they're not really worth it!

Last week I spent a bit of time in Houston after a sweet friend's bridal shower to get some of our furniture that had been in storage and to take my grandmother to one of her appointments.  Long story short, Houston had the ice storm of the decade and I ended up being cooped up inside for a few days because all the roads were literally shut down.  It was a little bit of a blessing in disguise because I got some work done, spent some time with my MIL and honestly spent a good amount of time doing absolutely nothing!

Style On A Budget: Mixing High & Low Pieces

I have a little confession - accessories are my weakness.  Shocking, I know. There’s just something about a great handbag or a pair of shoes that speak to me.  Unfortunately for my wallet (and husband’s sanity) accessories can get expensive rather quickly, so in order to make certain pricier pieces work within our budget I’ve learned to mix higher quality items with budget buys.  The best part of mixing high and low is that if you pick your budget items well, no one will be able to tell exactly how much you spent (or saved!) on that piece.

Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides Review

vital proteins collagen peptide powder lemon water coffee morning routine supplements vitamins whole 30 paleo health wellness mackenzie childs tea pot

When it comes to supplements I'm probably the worst when it comes to consistency.  I end up doing a ton of research on something, get super excited to work it into my routine and a few weeks later I forget to take it for a few days and it makes its way onto the list of supplements I just didn't stick with.  If I'm being completely honest I thought collagen peptides would be the same way which is why it took me so long to bite the bullet and spend the money, but after 6 months it's become a part of my daily routine and I've since repurchased multiple times.

Boho Jewelry With Victoria Emerson + A Giveaway!

My style is not necessarily what I would consider boho but when it comes to jewelry I find myself drawn to a more natural look with pieces that are made with leather and beads.  Now don't get me wrong, I do love diamonds and shiny things just as much as the next girl, but there's something to be said about pieces that can be dressed up or down for everyday wear.

How To Handle Feeling Burned Out

It's been a while - nearly two month have passed since I published my last blog post and even before that things were a little sparse around here.  I wish I could give you some amazing reason why it's been that way, but if I'm being totally honest life just got really busy and my heart just wasn't into creating content.  I told myself at some point last year that I didn't want to write if it wasn't something I felt strongly about or truly enjoyed creating and that's when I realized that I needed to step back for a bit and focus on some other things in my life.
