Fall Weddings
October 16, 2015
Today I'm on my way to Austin to attend the wedding of one of my sorority sisters. This is my first trip back to Texas since we moved to Boston, and I'm so, so excited to be back and celebrating such an exciting event! To say that packing for this trip was a challenge would be an understatement. The weather in Boston this weekend is supposed to get below freezing...and in Texas it's supposed to hit record high heat. I ended up just throwing stuff in the suitcase and praying it was under 50 pounds and appropriate for the weather. Thank goodness it was under the weight limit, but whether or not the contents are weather appropriate is still to be determined.
Stripes & Plaid
October 14, 2015
Talk to me a few years ago and I would have told you that I never mixed my prints. If I was wearing a print, I would always make sure to wear just one and the rest of my outfit would be neutral or solid fabrics. While there's nothing wrong with styling outfits like this, and I definitely still do sometimes for certain events, my style is starting to evolve and become a little more adventurous. Leopard is one of my favorite things on earth, I welcome sparkles into my closet with open arms, and one of my new favorite pair of shoes may or may not be plaid pumps.
Columbus Day Weekend Recap
October 13, 2015
This past weekend, Kyle and I were as spontaneous as I think we've ever been. We had talked about going to Acadia National Park for a while, but didn't really know how to make it work with our schedules and the weather. Our weather has been really unpredictable lately, but luckily when we checked the weather on Friday afternoon, Saturday was supposed to be perfect! We had our trip planned and hotel booked in literally an hour. And the best part? Pecan could tag along with us, and I'm so, so glad we took him, because I think he enjoyed it just as much, if not more, than we did! The little guy was seriously as happy as I've ever seen him.
Fall Accessories Wish List
October 9, 2015
Happy Friday lovelies! In my opinion there is no better season for accessories than fall. The colors and textures are so rich and luxe, which makes me feel instantly more chic when I'm wearing them. I've been trying not to go too crazy after my month of no shopping, so I was looking for a brand that had cute accessories at a lower price point, and I came across B.P. It's a brand carried by Nordstrom (in the Juniors section) that has new items what seems like every week! I love shopping the juniors section at Nordstrom because the quality is still usually pretty good, but the prices are much more reasonable than the women's section. Most of the pretties on my fall accessory wish list are from B.P. or the juniors section, so no need to feel guilty about treating yourself!
#fallsyllabus x Warby Parker
October 8, 2015
Warby Parker is an eyewear company that's been on my radar for quite a while now, but due to my denial of the fact that I actually do need to wear glasses, I haven't invested in good, quality eyewear. The timing could not have been more perfect when they reached out to me to try out some of their fall frames, because if I'm being honest, I've been running around squinting to see things lately. To test out some of their frames, I ordered one of their Home Try-On kits, which includes 5 pairs of glasses or sunglasses of your choice, shipped to you for free! You have 5 days to test them out, get your friends and family's opinions, and when you're done all you have to do is pop them back in the box and ship them back!
Barbour + Bean Boots
October 7, 2015
Last week the weather in Boston was perfect to break out my Barbour coat and bean boots. It was chilly and rainy, and I have to say the southerner in me was excited to actually need to wear them! I've had my Barbour coat since we lived in Dallas, and purchased my boots this past summer while we were at the L.L. Bean flagship store. There are lots of different styles for both the boots and jacket, so I highly recommend doing some research before you buy either. I'm not a cold weather expert by any means, but I thought I would share with y'all which styles I bought and why!

Cozy Cable Knit
October 5, 2015
I love a good cable knit sweater, but have had a hard time finding one lately that didn't look completely frumpy and boring. I had tried a lot of different brands, and was about to give up hope when I found this one from Caslon while browsing at Nordstrom. I've bought things from this brand before, so I knew the quality would be good, and this one definitely does not disappoint! I love that it's longer and oversized, and the neckline is probably one of my favorites that I've tried on. It's also perfect for the in between weather days because the sleeves are shorter. I wore a tank underneath it for this past weekend while we were running errands, but it would look great with a long sleeves too!
Easy Fall Neutrals
October 1, 2015
I blogged yesterday about wearing brights for fall, so I thought I would give the neutrals in my closet a little love too. This outfit is going to be on major repeat for me, because the second I put it on to shoot, I instantly felt pulled together and chic. And the best part of it? It's so, so comfortable and effortless! It's also one of those outfits that fits the bill for work wear (the wrap is perfect for those cold offices), and can easily transition to drinks after work or a dinner date by switching the boots for pumps!
