If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I chopped 6 inches off my hair this past weekend.  I told y'all last week that I had been obsessing over a lob, and while my hair is still a little longer than what I would consider a lob, it's a huge change for me!  Those of you that have known me for a while, you know I am not a big fan of change.  The last time I cut my hair off I cried for about three months.  Another time when I went to have my hair cut and colored before a bridal shower, they managed to turn my hair green and I thought I was going to have a mental breakdown in the salon.  I know it's just hair and it can be (and was) fixed, but I've always been super particular about my hair because it took me a long time to find a style that I really liked.  Growing out straight across bangs in middle school was not a fun time for this girl!

I honestly thought I would miss my long hair a lot more by now than I do, but I'm really happy I took the plunge and cut it all off because my hair was not in the best of shape.  Over the years, coloring it had really taken a toll on it and the ends were completely shot.  I'm not lying to you when I say that my hair dresser literally cut knots out of my hair because it was just too hard to detangle.  But now my hair looks thicker, healthier and has a lot more body than it did before!  You won't see my new hair on the blog until next week because the rain and snow we had this past weekend made it too unpredictable to shoot, but you can see it if you follow me on Instagram and snapchat (mrsonthemove)!

Enough about hair and on to chatting about these flared jeans!  I've been wanting to try out this '70s trend that has made its way back into fashion for a while, but like any other trend, I didn't want to spend a ton of money in case it was something I just didn't like.  Coming in at just under $40, these jeans from Old Navy are super affordable and literally one of my favorite pair I've ever owned.  They're high waisted and therefore super slimming and make your legs look like they're a million miles long! If you're on the  shorter side I would suggest getting these hemmed.  I'm 5'6" and was wearing 3" heels and they were just the right length for me, but definitely would have been dragging the ground had I been wearing flats instead of heels.

If you wanted to keep your look totally inspired by the '70s, you could pair your flared jeans with a bell sleeve top or something with a floral print!  I decided to mix in some more modern pieces, like my favorite Lush tunic and this fun, floppy hat to keep the trend a little more true to my style.

Have you been loving any of the trends from the 70's that have made a come back?  I'd love to hear!
    Happy Monday!

xoxo,
Kathryn
