What. A. Week.  I've gone through phases of emotion (worry, sadness, guilt) and am extremely fortunate that my family is safe and no one faced damage or evacuation like so many others.  Most things on the internet seem pretty trivial to me right now, but if I'm being completely honest I need a few minutes a day to take a mental break from the coverage of the aftermath of Harvey.  So please know that this post is not done with any intention to take away from what is going on in the world, I'm simply here to share a few minutes of distraction for those who need a mental break.

A little life update from Kyle, Pecan and I - we are settling into our apartment in McKinney and getting adjusted to life in Texas again.  We have had some setbacks in terms of selling our house, so things are in a bit of a holding pattern with that and our house search for the time being.  September is (hopefully) going to be a big month for us with events and transitions and although I typically don't do well with change, I am looking forward to what feels like a fresh start.

Shopping & Sales:

Around the Web:
  • For those in Dallas, here is a list of local murals & street art
  • Any other Gossip Girl fans out there?  This article lists all the restaurants from the show so you can eat like S & B!
  • I loved this post from my friend, Emma, about life beyond the Instagram feed!
  • I signed up for The Hustle (and you should too!) - a millennial focused daily email about things we should know in tech & business news
  • Here's 10 documentaries to watch on Netflix.  We currently don't have cable, so I'm adding these to my "must watch" list!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and if you were affected by Harvey, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers!
