Happy Friday, everyone! This week has been a little crazy for me as I traveled to Texas early Tuesday morning to spend some time with family and prepare to celebrate my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary party this weekend.  I've had so much fun looking at pictures from their wedding and early married years and hearing from all of their friends how excited they are to celebrate!

While I've loved being back in Texas (hello sweet tea!), one thing I have not missed is the weather.  When I was packing I knew I wouldn't be able to take any of my fall favorites because it's still hitting 90 degrees some days, so I'm just going to sit in an air conditioned house, look at these pictures and think very cool thoughts!

When the weather is really unpredictable or just doesn't feel like fall at all, it's time to make layering your best friend!  I know we've all had days where the weather goes from one extreme to another in a couple of hours or walked into a store or office building only to think you've walked into the tundra.  I had a little episode of this last week when I wore a sweater on a road trip because it was 50 degrees when we left our apartment, but hit a record high of almost 90 degrees where we were going.  It was definitely a day I wished I had listened to my own advice!

When I start to plan my layered outfits, I always like to start with a jacket or cardigan that I know will provide some warmth, but not too much.  Then I'll either choose a long or short sleeve t-shirt to go underneath based off what I'm planning for the day and a scarf if I think there's a possibility it will get really windy or I might need some extra warmth.  The best part about all of this?  You can change it as the day goes on!  It was a little chilly and rainy when we shot this outfit and it ended up getting a little warmer/humid, so I took off the scarf and rolled up the sleeves of my jacket.  It was the perfect adjustment to my outfit and still looked appropriate for fall!

I hope you've had a wonderful week and enjoy your weekend!

xoxo,
Kathryn
