I didn’t really become a watch person until college.  I think it was a combination of wanting to feel a little more grown up and actually needing to keep an eye on the time so I wasn’t late to my next class or meeting.  I hated pulling out my phone every time I wanted to check the time and still do to this day.  It’s so much easier (and polite!) to check your watch rather than pull out your phone when you’re chatting with someone or in a meeting. 

While I mostly wear a watch out of functionality, I would be lying if I said I didn’t also love how much of a fashion statement they can be!  I tend to gravitate towards oversized watches and love ones with unique aspects.  Jord is a company that I came across and was immediately drawn to as they specialize in making watches out of different kinds of woods in all shapes and sizes.   I mean it doesn’t get more unique than a watch made from wood, does it?

Since I love oversized watches, I picked out the Frankie style watch in Zebrawood & Champagne.  It can be dressed up or down and goes perfectly with all my bracelets I love to wear on a daily basis.  For summer I paired it with my go-to chambray dress and a scarf, but I can’t wait to wear it this fall with a chunky oversized sweater as well!  At 45 mm wide, the Frankie is pretty large for a ladies watch, so if you have a really small wrist, you might want to look at one of their other styles.
