There are many things Target does well, but one thing they do better than any other retailer is collaborate with major brands and designers. They know their consumers and they know exactly what they want. I mean how else does one walk out with $30 worth of dollar spot stuff? Or is that just me? And I’m going to go ahead and assume we all remember what happened with the Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection.
I normally try to stay on top of when Target is releasing
their next collaboration and the Who What Wear collection was no
exception. I stalked the lookbook the
day it came out, but, with the exception of this skirt, nothing really stood
out to me. I decided to wait until I saw
the collection in store and surprisingly had a hard time finding it.
I went to one of my favorite stores – yes, I really do have
my list of favorite Target stores near us – only to figure out that the Who
What Wear collection was a limited release.
Meaning they decided to only put it into stores that were high volume
and had the potential to sell through the product quickly. I’m not too sure if this is a new practice
with Target collaborations, but I was a little surprised by it.
One of the two stores that had the collection was my second
favorite Target on my list, so a few days later I made my way there. We needed canned coconut milk and I couldn’t
find it at my grocery store, so I just had
to go. I was surprised again when I
saw that the entire collection was there and in almost every size. After seeing the collection in person, I’m
not too sure why so much of it was left.
The only reason I didn’t walk out with multiple pieces was because most
of the collection is basics and I have a ton of that in my closet already. But, this is great for someone who needs to build
a work wardrobe, or simply needs a little refreshing!
The piece I did walk out with was this black and white
A-line skirt. I love the versatile print
and honestly, I don’t have a ton of skirts in my closet. A-line skirts are great for everything from
work wear to weekend wear and can easily transition from season to season with
a pair of opaque tights. I’m still
trying to keep my outfits true to season with a little side of spring, so I
paired it with this lightweight Topshop turtleneck (under $20!) and a pair of
basic black pumps. The pop of color says
spring while long sleeves and otherwise neutral colors say there’s still a
chance I could freeze at any given moment!
Whether you’re a
Target collaboration junkie like me, or just looking to add a few fun basics to
your wardrobe, I highly recommend checking out the Who What Wear
collection! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention! They’re adding new pieces every month, so be
on the lookout!
I hope your Tuesday is off to a great start! I’m officially half way through Whole 30
today so I am determined to make today a good one!
xoxo,
Kathryn
